Reyes and Voves of Union Savings Bank<br> select six new corporators
Danbury, CT Union Savings Bank president and CEO Chelen Reyes and chair of the board Lucie Voves have elected six new corporators at Union Savings Bank’s recent annual meeting. The six new corporators are Wendy Bernard, Steven Boa Demoura, Fil Cerminara, Perry Salvagne, Stephen Santa and Bart Stanco.
“We are very pleased that these six business leaders have joined Union Savings Bank as new corporators,” said Reyes. “They bring a wealth of knowledge to USB, have deep connections within the community and play a vital role at the bank — advocating for new business, supporting us in our goal of being the bank of choice, all while serving as excellent USB ambassadors.”
Wendy Bernard, Esq. is an attorney and managing member at Bernard Law Group, LLC., a woman-, minority- and veteran-owned business specializing in regulatory compliance and real estate law and located in Southbury. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Iona College, New Rochelle, N.Y. and a Juris Doctorate and certificate in International Law from Pace University School of Law, White Plains, N.Y. Bernard retired from the United States Army Reserve in May 2019, at the rank of major, after twenty-four years of honorable service, the last ten of which was served in the Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Her military awards include the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal. Bernard is a member of the Connecticut Mortgage Bankers’ Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and a board member for Shakesperience Productions, Inc., a 501 nonprofit Professional Theater Company located in Waterbury. Bernard resides in Southbury.
Steven Boa DeMoura, Esq. is a probate judge serving Northern Fairfield County and an attorney and owner of The Law Office of Steven Boa DeMoura, located in Bethel. DeMoura earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Quinnipiac Law School. In addition to his expertise in law, DeMoura also has a background in residential and commercial real estate. He is a member and past president of the Greater Danbury Bar Association, a member of the Economic Development Commission in Bethel, and a member of the Portuguese Cultural Center. DeMoura resides in Bethel.
Fil Cerminara is the president and co-owner of F&M Electric Supply Co. The independently owned company, which serves residential, commercial, government, and industrial markets, has been serving Danbury and surrounding areas for more than three decades. Cerminara is a graduate of Henry Abott Technical School, Danbury, CT. He has served on the board of directors of the Henry Abbott Technical School and currently is a member of the Electrical Craft Committee. Cerminara also serves on the Board of the Immaculate High School. He resides in Brookfield.
Perry Salvagne IV is an insurance agent and agency president at Hodge Insurance Agency, Inc., located in Danbury. Salvagne is an Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS). He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Wake Forest University. Salvagne is very active in the community and served in various capacities for the Latino Scholarship Fund, City Center Danbury, Leadership Danbury, and City of Danbury Planning Commission. He resides in Danbury.
Stephen Santa is the director of operations at Santa Energy Corporation, Bridgeport, CT, which serves both residential and commercial markets for heating oil, propone, HVAC, commercial fuel, fleet fueling, and marine fuels. Santa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Transportation from the Maritime Academy and a Master’s degree in Transportation Management from SUNY Maritime College. He is a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve serving on the Strategic Sealift Officers Force. Santa also serves on the Redding Fire and EMS Co. #1 and is the assistant chief for the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company. He resides in Bridgeport.
Bart Stanco is a CEO advisor and executive partner at Gartner, a global IT research firm and consultancy headquartered in Stamford, Conn. Stanco advises corporations on business and technology strategy. He is also the CEO and founder of Big Oak Investments, which specializes in private real estate investing. Stanco, whose experience in technology and investing spans 40-plus years, studied pre-med and electrical engineering at Polytechnic University. He is a board member of the Women’s Business Development Council, a commissioner for the Connecticut Education and Technology Commission, and a member of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship. Stanco resides in Stamford.
