November 19, 2007 - Spotlights
Wise Construction recently completed phase 1 of the new cardiac and endovascular center at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Partnering with Hallmark Health Systems, the Wise team is converting three occupied clinical units into a state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facility to support the hospitals' strides in providing comprehensive clinical services to patients and families in communities north of Boston
According to John Wise, president, the project presents some unique challenges in working in and around an operating wing of the Hospital while being sensitive to the healing environment for those using or visiting the facility.
"Our polished project management group is committed to implementing the highest standards of operations to maintain a safe, clean and secure job site," he explained. "Keen coordination and cohesive teamwork are integral during installation of the latest sophisticated technology equipment that will assist the Melrose-Wakefield medical team in diagnosing and treating diseases of the heart and circulatory system."
The project involves building out 8,300 s/f to support the new cardiac and endovascular centers' broad array of therapies and procedures including its echo, EKG, nuclear medicine and radioactive laboratory functions. A complete upgrade of the life safety systems in the space was also conducted.
