Derby Street Shops to open bartaco restaurant
Hingham, MA Derby Street Shops’ dining options are expanding with the arrival of bartaco, opening at the property later this year. bartaco has fresh, upscale street food served in a welcoming, laid-back setting. Marking its debut on the South Shore, guests can look forward to indulging in bartaco’s signature specialties, including hand-crafted cocktails made with fresh-squeezed juices, a variety of shareable, hand-held dishes, and a diverse range of flavorful tacos. The spirited bold and bright flavors of bartaco’s menu will be complemented by a rustic, coastal-inspired design and a culinary experience new to the South Shore.
At bartaco, the food is a celebration of globally-inspired flavors, focused on tacos and small plates, “not tacos,” all prepared with fresh ingredients. The menu is designed to be light and easy for social gatherings. Diners can expect to find fan favorites items, including bartaco’s glazed pork belly taco with succulent pork topped with a sweet and spicy arbol chili glaze, and its baja fish taco, featuring spicy tempura-battered cod with chipotle slaw. bartaco’s drink menu will showcase signature cocktails such as its Green Margarita, made with fresh-squeezed spinach, pineapple and mango juice, and spirit-free beverages, like its grapefruit ginger Agua Fresca and pomegranate limonada, alongside bottled beer, sangria, and wine. As a neighborhood restaurant, bartaco will also offer a special kids’ menu.

As a previous resident of Marshfield and a frequent visitor to Derby Street, this location feels like I’m bringing our brand to my home,” says Anthony Valletta, president of bartaco.
Upon entering bartaco, guests will be greeted by upbeat music, seaside inspired artwork and design details, and the smell of fresh lime zest permeating the restaurant. There will be a u-shaped bar and a folding glass wall that will open up across the front of the space in the warm weather months. A large outdoor patio will be surrounded by lush greenery and equipped with a canopy, heaters, and fans to provide comfort for bartaco’s diners to enjoy al fresco dining.
