The Village Bank promotes Franklin, Werner and others
Newton, MA At The Village Bank’s annual meeting held earlier this month, president and CEO Joseph De Vito released the following officer promotions:
Andy Franklin was promoted to executive vice president/chief lending officer. Franklin will continue to manage the strategic direction of all commercial, residential and consumer lending activities including origination, underwriting, servicing, customer relations and portfolio management. He joined The Village Bank in September 2003 as a commercial lender and was promoted to senior vice president/commercial lending in 2011 and chief lending officer in 2021.
Amy Werner will assume the new title of senior vice president/chief retail and marketing officer. Werner joined The Village Bank in May 2018 as senior vice president/retail banking. In 2021 under her direction, the bank added a marketing department. Werner will continue to manage the strategic direction of the retail and marketing teams as well as the Customer Care Center.
Susan Paley was promoted to senior vice president/community relations. Paley joined The Village Bank in June 2007 as a mortgage originator, and in September 2007 accepted the position of community relations manager. In 2013, she was promoted to vice president/community relations. Paley has held a variety of positions from volunteer to officer and board member for many organizations.
Michael Harrington was promoted to senior vice president/information technology. Harrington has been a member of The Village Bank team since August 2014, when he was hired as information technology manager. In May 2018, he was promoted to vice president/information technology manager, and he has led the IT department since that time.
Stephanie Lewers was promoted to senior vice president/residential lending. Lewers joined The Village Bank in November 2019 as assistant vice president/residential loan operations manager. She was promoted to vice president in May 2020, and she will continue to direct the Bank’s residential lending team.
Mark Loveless was promoted to vice president/Newtonville branch manager. Loveless was hired to manage the Newtonville branch in October 2009. He became an officer in 2010 and was promoted to assistant vice president in 2016. He will continue to oversee day-to-day operations in Newtonville.
Chris Letourneau was promoted to assistant vice president/marketing officer. Letourneau joined The Village Bank in January 2021 in the newly created position of assistant treasurer/marketing officer. He will complete the Mass Bankers Association’s New England School for Financial Studies next month.
Christina Hacsunda was promoted to assistant vice president/BSA officer. Hacsunda joined The Village Bank as a teller in 2012. After two retail promotions, she transitioned to the Bank Secrecy Act team in 2017 in the role of specialist. She became an officer in 2021, and this is her fourth promotion in BSA.
Valdet Abazi was promoted to assistant vice president/Newton Centre branch manager. Abazi joined the Bank in March 2021 as assistant treasurer/branch manager. Abazi will continue to oversee day-to-day operations in Newton Centre.
Alyssa D’Amore was promoted to assistant vice president/Newton Highlands branch manager. D’Amore joined The Village Bank as a teller in 2011 and has received six promotions while working in the Newton Highlands and Newtonville offices. She will continue to oversee day-today operations in Newton Highlands.
Sean Murray was promoted to assistant treasurer/senior credit analyst. Murray joined The Village Bank in 2013 as a teller. He completed the Bank’s management training program in 2015 and has been promoted four times, most recently to senior credit analyst in 2020.
Michael Spalding was promoted to assistant treasurer/Waban branch manager. Spalding joined The Village Bank as a teller in 2016. He was promoted to assistant branch manager in 2020 and to Waban branch manager in 2021. He will continue to oversee day-to-day operations in Waban.
Ghazwan Tapponi was promoted to assistant treasurer/West Newton branch manager. Tapponi joined The Village Bank in December 2017 as a teller. He has been promoted four times since then, most recently to branch manager in 2021. He will continue to oversee day-today operations in West Newton.
Michelle Tocci was promoted to assistant treasurer/Customer Care Center manager. Tocci joined The Village Bank as a teller in 2012. She was promoted to CCC assistant manager in 2020 and manager in 2022. She will continue to oversee day-to-day operations in the Customer Care Center.
