2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Christine Song, AIA, Elkus Manfredi Architects
Number of years at firm: 7
One thing on my bucket list: I don’t know how to drive so I would like to learn!
When I am not working, I am: Spending time with family and friends.
What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? I am most proud of my role on MIT’s Volpe redevelopment project in Kendall Sq. Six years ago I started with master planning for the 14-acre site, and now I am the project architect for one of the buildings on the site. My continued involvement in the project allows me to provide continuity and context for the team and client, and play a significant role in design. The robust place-making and community engagement process defines the architecture that is taking shape, and, as a Cambridge resident, I’m excited to help guide such an important endeavor for my community and city.
What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“Christine has become an accomplished designer of complex high-rise buildings, and has the knowledge and confidence to lead a large team, having led over 15 engineering consultants for the Volpe project. As she grows, she’ll have even more influence on our work and on the cityscapes of Boston and Cambridge.” - David Manfredi FAIA, LEED AP, CEO and Founding Principal at Elkus Manfredi Architects
