What are some of the benefits of being a mentor or having a mentor? Mentorship is one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession. To provide the caring and understanding needed to grow a mentee’s career, not only benefits them but my own work as well. In my career, I have made it a priority to help mentees build confidence, grow their skills, and gain a better understand our organization. Mentorship provides a sounding board for new ideas. It has helped me, as a leader, to gain a renewed commitment to my work and to think critically while supporting other’s personal growth. Mentorship between women at Groom Construction especially encourages trust, collaboration, and powerful alliances that has led to a more equal representation in leadership roles.
