SGE/NE&C joins USGBC as corporate member: offering LEED workshop

SGE/Northeast Engineers & Consulting, a multi-discipline engineering firm doing work locally and world-wide, has joined the United States Green Building Council as a corporate member. SGE/Northeast Engineers is committed to the environmental, economic, and health benefits of green building, engineering, design and construction. SGE/Northeast Engineering has three current projects attempting Gold and Silver LEED certifications. The company is providing comprehensive engineering and permitting for the Weekapaug Inn in Westerly, and civil and structural engineering for the fire and rescue headquarters in Bristol, - both of which are attempting to attain LEED Gold certification. SGE/NE&C is also providing the civil and structural engineering for the Potter League in Middletown, which is attempting a Silver LEED certification. About Green Building The built environment has a profound impact on our natural environment, economy, health, and productivity. SGE/Northeast Engineers is offering its third LEED Professional Accreditation workshop for professionals who are preparing to take the LEED AP exam or for those who want to learn more about the USGBC rating and LEED certification system. The workshops will be held on Thursdays from 8 - 10 a.m at 55 John Clarke Rd. in Middletown starting on October 9th. This is a great opportunity for local architects, engineers, builders and designers to learn more about LEED or prepare to take the exam.
