Erland, WaypointKLA and TAT work on new development
Brookline, MA Chestnut Hill Realty selected Erland Construction, in collaboration with WaypointKLA and The Architectural Team, to take 11 stand-alone two-story buildings and one four-story apartment building out-of-the-ground at Hancock Village. This new development is notably referred to as the Residences of South Brookline. To date, the team has completed the first four townhome buildings. This is a significant milestone for the project since most of the construction has been completed while managing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first group is made up of four buildings with a total of 20 townhomes. The wood-frame buildings consist of three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms with natural red oak flooring, black quartz composite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and high-end finishes throughout. The brick exterior complements the existing homes in the Hancock Village community. The first neighborhood’s residents are set to move in to their new homes in the coming weeks.
Additionally, construction is well underway on the community’s new 197,375 s/f multifamily property. The Asheville Building will be a mix of one and two-bedrooms totaling 127 units. Amenities will include a fitness center, clubroom, and deck with space for outdoor entertaining.
The Asheville building will include four wood-frame stories constructed upon a 2-story podium. The first level will feature the main entrance and garage parking. The second level will be an even split of garage parking and residential units. Additionally, a central mechanical plant will be installed on the roof to support the heating and cooling for the entire building.
“We’re very excited to partner with Chestnut Hill Realty and WaypointKLA to build this project,” said Eric Greene, vice president, residential group manager, Erland. “A lot of planning and thought has gone into these new market-rate and affordable residences, recognizing their positive contribution to the Hancock Village community. Having a great place to live starts with a sense of comfort and that’s exactly what these buildings will provide.”
