London, San Carlos, California, and Woburn have one thing in common. BioTrove, Inc., which is headquartered in Woburn, is expanding in all three places.
The biotech company, which is collaborating to improve blood typing and to research genetic biomarkers for lung cancer, expanded and extended its lease with Cummings at 10 and 12 Gill St.
BioTrove looked at multiple options before deciding to renew 33,000 s/f of lab and office space and add 5,000 s/f.
Albert Luderer, Ph.D., president and CEO, said, "Even as we are expanding nationally and internationally, Cummings is helping us to expand locally. This is the third expansion we have completed with them."
"Cummings Properties is pleased to support companies like BioTrove, which are developing breakthrough products that will speed up medical advances," said Mark Knittle, key accounts manager.
Leasing/property manager Tony Spencer and Knittle represented Cummings in the transaction. Andy Majewski of CBRE represented BioTrove in the search for space and lease negotiations.
The Gill St. Life Sciences Cluster is close to I-93 and 95/128, the Anderson MBTA station, a hub for commuter rail and airport shuttle service, and TradeCenter 128, Cummings Properties' latest development. Numerous restaurants, retail stores and the Woburn Mall are close by.
