2021 Women in Construction: Carli Dantas, Assistant Project Manger, Dellbrook | JKS
What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? The most notable project in the last year was an affordable senior housing facility. It provides seniors with the ability to live in an apartment of their own, but with support of the staff to provide activities and a support system. It is very rewarding to help a population that sometimes needs a little extra support.
How have you adapted and changed in the last 12 months? Working from home has been a big change but setting a daily schedule and keeping track of do to lists has really helped me to adapt.
What are you most looking forward to post-pandemic? What I am most looking forward to post-pandemic is being able to interact with friends and family more and taking some trips.
What steps have you taken to ensure the continued success of your firm? I think communication is a large part of success in many areas of life. I try to communicate with my team regularly to make sure that we are a successful team for the company.
Why should women consider a career in construction? Construction is a great, fast paced business. If women enjoy seeing something come to life and being a part of that, then it is a career for you. Seeing something go from paper to reality is such an awesome process.
Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? What empowered me were my professors. I went to school for architecture but had a couple great mentors that pushed me in the direction of construction, and for them, I am grateful.
