Galaxy Development begins construction on self-storage facility
Worcester, MA Webster-based Galaxy Development, LLC has started construction of a new 500-unit 71,000 s/f three story climate-controlled self-storage building at 29 James St. The three-acre property is the former site of Gatto’s Flower Shop and Nursery. The site boasts nearly 400 feet of frontage and is close to the busy intersection of Stafford St. James St. has a traffic count of nearly 20,000 cars per day. The facility will be operated by Lucky Pick Self Storage, LLC which is the first venture of this type in the large portfolio of properties for Galaxy.
The listing agent was Jimmy Kalogeropoulos of RE/MAX Advantage 1 and the selling agent was Evan O’Brien of Cushman & Wakefield in Hartford, CT. The sellers were represented by attorney Chris Panagiotidis of DiFonte & Panagiotidis LLC, and attorneys Mark Donahue and Todd Brodeur of Fletcher Tilton, PC in Worcester represented Galaxy.
Pat Doherty of Midpoint Engineering managed all the engineering and permitting services. Financing for the project was provided by Kyle Borque of Cornerstone Bank.

The project completion is set for spring 2021. Galaxy Development is seeking new sites for self-storage in the Massachusetts market.
