2020 Year in Review: Pete Doucet, C.E. Floyd Company, Inc.
What was the most difficult part of working during the pandemic of 2020? We’ve experienced many challenges throughout the pandemic of 2020 but if I had to pick one, it’s been our inability to hold in-person subcontractor Lean meetings. That weekly meeting time allowed us to increase our accountability with subs by making schedule commitments visually on our Lean boards. In March, we eliminated in-person meetings and quickly adjusted our 6-week planning approach to a virtual platform. We did this by increasing subcontractor communication, issuing weekly work plan follow-ups and building 6-week look ahead schedules vs. 3 weeks. This process kept our project teams looking ahead despite the unknowns of COVID-19.
