Thru the Lens: Shawmut Design and Construction partnered with Make-A-Wish to grant wish for a Swiss Family Robinson-themed treehouse
Shrewsbury, MA Shawmut Design and Construction partnered with Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island to grant 5 year old Shrewsbury resident Maxwell’s wish for a Swiss Family Robinson-themed treehouse. The Shawmut team designed and built the treehouse, which included a wrap-around deck, porthole window, and lookout tower. The 20-person volunteer team constructed the treehouse in Shawmut’s workshop, reconstructed it in Maxwell’s backyard, and unveiled the final product in front of friends and family on October 23.
Maxwell was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, and after 14 rounds of chemotherapy and a month of radiation, was declared cancer free on October 22.
