Timberline completes PT/training lab for BU
October 17, 2013 - Construction Design & Engineering
The Timberline Construction team recently completed the renovation of the physical therapy and athletic training laboratory on the basement level of the Boston University's Sargent College building.
The open floor plan layout with cool color tones was designed by the KSID, LLC architectural team to accommodate the multi-functional objectives and to create a useable and inviting learning environment. The KSID team has completed several projects on the Boston University campus.
The project is located on a tight urban site on Commonwealth Ave. The construction scope for the Timberline team included the demolition of existing rooms for a large new room to then be built with new millwork, flooring, wall and ceiling finishes, as well as HVAC, plumbing and electrical upgrades.
The laboratory is complete with an audio visual system fit-out featuring large LCD television screens around the perimeter, cameras, and podium based media stations. The room houses state-of-the-art physical therapy models, equipment and furnishings. Also within the renovation plan, a separate computer room accommodates 12 students.
