August 22, 2013 - Green Buildings
Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. (Griffin Electric) completed the electrical installation work for Service Credit Union. The project has obtained a LEED Gold certification.
Constructed by local New Hampshire labor, the credit union's new corporate offices consisted of a 100,000 s/f, four-story building with a lower level parking garage and mechanical area. Features of the facility include a full-service, 24/7 member service call center, in addition to foreign exchange, member check imaging, processing and control, finance and executive offices. Additionally, three community rooms are available for use by local city government, not-for-profit organizations and other associations, to help with the need for meeting space in the Portsmouth area.
The Griffin Electric team was responsible for installing a state-of-the-art lighting and controls package at the facility, in addition to a new 1000 KW generator, fire alarm system, including an atrium exhaust system interface, and UPS, security and tele/data systems.
Leading the project to completion was construction manager Suffolk Construction Co., Inc.; architect GUND Partnership; and electrical engineer Zade Co.
