William Depietri has spent most of his life in the state's metro west area. He currently resides in Southborough with his wife and four children. He started his career working during high school and summers for his uncles and grandfather doing landscaping. Depietri was drawn to the development/construction field through his father, who worked for Perini Corporation. After working in Kuwait and Israel for Perini Corp., he returned to the states and joined the family development business.
In 1987 Depietri started out on his own wanting to assert his independence. His business philosophy was to learn one aspect of the business, master it and always continue to learn something new. His company, Rosewood Construction started out doing tenant fit up, from there he moved to single family homes, town house condo units, retail centers, commercial buildings and site work. Each endeavor has been educational and rewarding.
By 1997 Depietri was looking for a new challenge which turned out to be a partnership in Clock Tower Place, located in Maynard. This property is a 100 year old mill that was converted to the Digital Equipment corporate offices in the 1970s and 1980s which consisted of 27 buildings and 1.1 million s/f. The buildings had been empty for several years and needed to be updated and made code compliant. The overall project took 5 years to complete and lease.
In 1998 Depietri founded and continues to operate Capital Group Properties. The function of this company is to seek out land for development and take it through the permitting process. It also serves as a management company for the commercial/retail properties in his portfolio along with the transition of the over 55 developments from developer to homeowner associations.
While the independence of working alone has worked very well for Depietri, he has had partners on several projects over the years and enjoys sharing success with others. To date Depietri has been involved in the construction of 18 custom homes, 96 spec homes, 215 condo units, 10 retail centers, and 11 commercial buildings. His portfolio currently consists of 423,000 s/f of commercial/retail space.
Depietri is a contributor to many local charities; he is a firm believer that it is important to give back to the community. He takes great pride in his developments and their positive impact on the economy and local neighborhoods.
