New England Chapter to hold its scholarship evening on Oct. 7th
September 9, 2010 - Spotlights
The New England SIOR Chapter will hold its annual RW Holmes Scholarship Evening on Thursday, Oct. 7th at The Algonquin Club in Boston's BackBay. The event is for SIOR members only and their invited guests.
Bob Holmes was a long-time SIOR member and past Chapter president of SIOR and the founder of RW Holmes Realty in Natick. His son, Garry Holmes now serves as the president of the firm, is an SIOR and past Chapter president.
The scholarship is offered to an SIOR Candidate who exemplifies the commitment to the SIOR organization and to stellar professionalism serving as an office/industrial broker in the greater Boston market.
Applications were submitted for a July 2010 deadline and reviewed by an SIOR panel including Mark Stevens, Bob Cleary, Greg Klemmer and Garry Holmes. Stevens, Holmes, Klemmer and Cleary also interviewed the applicants.
This program has been successful over the years. Last year, two Candidates (Evan Gallagher and Mike Zieja) were co-recipients of the scholarship. The scholarship is in the amount of $2,000 and can only be used towards an SIOR designation course.
The evening will be held in a private room at the distinguished and private Algonquin Club. Complimentary cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
