Newman of Malkin Props. brokers 7,300 s/f lease renewal for Cisco Systems

Multinational computer networking corporation Cisco Systems, Inc. has renewed its lease at MerrittView again, according to Jeffrey Newman, executive vice president of Malkin Properties, the marketing and managing agent for the building. The firm occupies approximately 7,300 s/f on the seventh floor. The lease renewal, for a term of five years, is the tenant's second since it took occupancy in 1999. Cisco Systems is a worldwide leader in the design and marketing of networking and communications technology, products and services. Newman represented the landlord in the transaction. Ed Tonnesson, Saxon Nowotka and J'ne Templin of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the tenant. Built in 1985, MerrittView is an eight-story 255,000 s/f trophy office building.The centralized location provides the convenience of immediate access to Rte. 7 Exit 40A and 40B of the Merritt Pkwy.and the Metro-North Commuter Railroad. Recent and on-going building-wide enhancements include a newly redecorated lobby and common area corridors. Sustainable practices were incorporated into all recent upgrades, including the use of recycled content carpet and wallcovering and the use of adhesives and sealants with low or no VOC's (volatile organic compounds).
