December 22, 2009 - Retail
Jason Weissman, principal of Boston Realty Advisors, recently leased 1,800 s/f of retail space, designed by JFS Design, to Stil Yoga from Newbury St., Boston at the Legacy Place. Betty Riaz, the owner of Stil Yoga, is expanding her brand with this new venture - Stil Studio, yoga and meditation. The grand opening of her Prana Vayu yoga studio with the retail store out front was October 17th.
The 675,000 s/f Legacy Place is 93% leased. Anchor stores include Whole Foods Market, L.L. Bean, Borders and National Amusements' Cinema de Lux. Legacy Place is opening on a gradual basis through next spring. Several stores are now open, and about 45% of the tenants have been in business since the end of August.
A new Whole Foods Market store opened Sept. 2nd. The 60,000 s/f store will be the Austin, Tex.-based organic grocer's largest in New England, and it will include a 225-seat cafe.
Legacy Place will contain about 10 restaurants, the first of which, Asian bistro P.F. Chang's, opened recently. Many of the eateries will have outdoor seating.
Cambridge architectural firm Prellwitz Chilinski Associates designed storefronts with varying heights and different materials from brick to cast stone, to give the center the look of a neighborhood that grew over time. In fact, construction has taken just a year-and-a-half.
