RIBA begins radio show on WHJJ AM-920
September 12, 2007 - Rhode Island
The Rhode Island Builders Association will take to the airwaves this month with its own radio show on WHJJ AM-920.
The hour-long broadcast, You're Home, will air Sunday mornings at 11 a.m., and will feature expert guests to answer call-in questions on home buying, remodeling and restoration, mortgages, home maintenance, and many other topics relevant to the shelter industry.
The show will be hosted by alternating pairs of RIBA members. These will include RIBA president Thomas McNulty, vice president Michael Artesani Sr., immediate past president Edgar Ladouceur, past president John Thibodeau, Felix Carlone and Colin Kane.
RDW Group, which spearheads RIBA's public outreach efforts, is working on a logo for the show, according to David Monti, RDW senior vice president.
Along with live broadcast of the show, there will be a RIBA You're Home web page on the association's website.
A prime purpose of the show will be to direct listeners to the RIBA website for additional information on a variety of topics.
"The show has a great theme song and bumper (music for in and out of segments) that features a variety of tool sounds…hammers, saws, nail guns, drills, etc. mixed in and holding the beat for the music score," Monti said.
"The show will likely have two benchmark or regular features, such as 'the big mistake,' the money saving tip of the week, etc.," he said.
