Project of the Month: Fulcrum Associates nears completion of new headquarters facility for LYMO Construction

Londonderry, NH Fulcrum Associates is nearing completion of the new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility for LYMO Construction. LYMO is one of New England’s premier building envelope/exterior cladding solutions providers. LYMO provides design assistance services to many of New England’s leading construction and design firms. When LYMO was looking to expand to a new facility they had many options available to them, after narrowing their search and interviewing a short list of potential construction mangers, LYMO selected Fulcrum as their construction partner. 

Being an industry leader in cladding systems, LYMO is often called upon to provide design assistance on the projects they provide materials for. It was LYMO’s intention to design their new building as a showcase to display their materials and installation systems. The new building is comprised of a three-story office component presenting to the street with a high bay manufacturing facility to the rear. Additionally there is a stand-alone accessory building to house material and finished product. Having one of the leading authorities on cladding systems as a client helped focus the design team on how the building needed to look and perform. Working closely with the design team LYMO incorporated a large variety of their LYMO Rain Screen Panels and systems. The entire building cladding system creates a super-insulated building envelope that exceeds the LEED Platinum performance criteria. 

Fulcrum worked diligently with the design and ownership team providing pre-construction services to evolve the building design and systems. The pre-construction planning for the project was an eight month long engagement, working with the design team and a knowledgeable owner, Fulcrum was able to leverage the strength of its sub-contractor partners early in the process. The collaboration between Fulcrum, Dennis Mires The Architect, LYMO and subcontractor partners S.L. Chasse, Longchamps Electric and American Excavating was instrumental in developing a project that conveyed the owner’s vision for form and function.

The attention to pre-construction detail enabled the construction of the project to be completed in seven months.

Fulcrum of Amherst, N.H. partnered with Dennis Mires The Architects P.A. of Manchester for the design-build effort, Casco Bay Engineering provided structural design. Site engineering was prepared by Meridian Land Services of Amherst, N.H. Glenn DeNoble, senior project manager, Jenn Bartholomay, project manager and Christopher King, site superintendent lead the team for Fulcrum along with Kreg Jones from Dennis Mires P.A. Key subcontractor partners included American Excavation, Longchamps Electric, S.L. Chasse Steel, Marchand Painting, J. Lawrence Hall and Quality Concrete.
