PLA! unveils lineup for summer networking event series

Boston, MA Professional Ladies Association (PLA!) Boston has presented an impressive summer networking event series. Following a highly successful year of events, PLA! is proud to bring back the “Sip & Swing” series which started in June. Additional dates include July 26th, and September 13th at Quincy’s renowned Granite Links Country Club.

The “Sip & Swing” golf outings, a popular event series that sells out each session throughout the summer, are made possible through the generous sponsorship of Vision 3 Architects, Above All Epoxy Flooring, Highpoint Engineering, and Allermuir/Senator for the respective June, July, and September sessions. Notably, PLA!’s annual Summer Soiree will be undergoing a transformation this year, as it sets sail in Boston Harbor, departing from its traditional rooftop celebration.

Thanks to the support of multiple event sponsors, PLA! is delighted to offer most of its programming free of charge to its valued members. With a calendar packed full of monthly networking opportunities, PLA!’s summer event series culminates in the highly anticipated fundraiser, “Brunch for Ellie,” scheduled for October 19th. Last year’s event, featuring heartfelt discussions with several breast cancer survivors, raised over $12,000 in support of the Ellie Fund. This Massachusetts-based non-profit organization provides vital support services to breast cancer patients, alleviating the everyday challenges they face and enabling them to focus on family, recovery, and healing. This year, Candy O’Terry will return as the event emcee, and PLA! aims to raise $20,000 for the Ellie Fund.

Since its inception in 2011 by Maureen Rystrom, partner and VP of marketing at J. Calnan & Associates, and business development expert Kristina Esposito, PLA! Boston has established itself as a respected name in the A/E/C industry.

Known for its ability to foster connections among women through networking, mentorship, and philanthropy, PLA! has grown to include nearly 300 professional women, comprising brokers, end users, property managers, project managers, architects, designers, and service providers at all levels.

PLA! is the premier networking association for women in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (A/E/C) industry in Boston and beyond. Our mission is to facilitate connections among professional women through networking events, educational initiatives, social gatherings, and philanthropic endeavors. With an ever-growing membership of nearly 300 women, including brokers, end users, property managers, project managers, architects, designers, and service providers, PLA! is committed to empowering women in A/E/C. Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
