O'Meara of Parsons Brinkerhoff named Woman of the Year by WTS International

Margaret O'Meara has been named Woman of the Year by WTS International, the association for the advancement of women in the transportation industry. A vice president in the Boston office of Parsons Brinckerhoff, O'Meara is responsible for client relationship management, strategic planning, and business development within the company's New England region. With nearly 30 years of experience with consulting firms and public agencies, she is a leader in the transportation field. "We are just thrilled about Margaret being named Woman of the Year," said Marcia Ferranto, WTS International's president and CEO. "She's been a standout leader at WTS, a staunch proponent of women in transportation, providing insight and perspective on key policy issues in the public policy debate. Margaret's passion is a hallmark of her leadership in this industry." Before joining the private sector, O'Meara worked for public transportation agencies for over 25 years. At Mass. Highway she served as assistant area construction manager for the Central Artery/Tunnel project; she also served as district highway director for District 3 in Central Mass. and as assistant commissioner statewide. With the Mass. Bay Transportation Authority she was a project office engineer, project analyst, and assistant project manager.
