O’Brien, veteran of commercial property development, launches new company: The ArtFitters

South Windsor, CT Anne O’Brien, a veteran of commercial property development and facilities management, as well as residential interior design and staging, has launched a new company: The ArtFitters. The company re-imagines ordinary spaces to make them beautiful, organized, functional, and comfortable, by applying the arts of adaptive re-use and creative utilization.

The ArtFitters works with commercial, residential, historical, or institutional properties to make any spaces, old and new, reflect the distinctive visions of its clients. As the agents of that vision, The ArtFitters works with clients to define the requirements for the space. Once they’re defined, The ArtFitters creates a plan that balances the budget and the schedule, determine what can be saved and re-used and what needs to be added, then detail the elements and activities required to complete the project. Those elements — objects, shapes, colors, textures, textiles, wood, metal, people, food, function, and more — and their placement help fulfill clients’ visions, inviting comfort and functional utility, even as they reflect clients’ personalities.

“This is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream,” said O’Brien, who will serve as principal of The ArtFitters. “I started playing with art and design as a child. I studied art and developed, managed, and designed commercial real estate–and staged and sold residential real estate–as an adult. So, The ArtFitters gives me the opportunity to contribute everything I love to do, as well as everything I’ve learned, to the realization of our clients’ visions. I don’t think there’s a more meaningful reward, personally or professionally.”
