Nordblom Co. organizes food drive at Northwest Park to collect items for Burlington Food Pantry
Nordblom Co. organized a food drive at Northwest Park to collect non-perishable items for the Burlington Food Pantry.
Nordblom employees organized the effort and distributed bags to each tenant in Northwest Park for collection of items. After two weeks, Nordblom picked up the boxes and delivered the donations to the Burlington Food Pantry, located at St. Mark's Church. Upon arrival at the pantry, Nordblom employees unloaded five cars filled with donations from Northwest Park tenants as well as a significant donation from Welch's in Billerica. 200 grocery bags and household items were collected during the drive. Among the standout contributors were Acme Packet, Acronis, Inc., Critical Care Systems, Durkin Devries Insurance and Triad Engineering.
"The pantry is now assisting 115 families. That is an increase of 30 families in the last five months, so they have significant need right now," said Dustin Shea, Nordblom employee.
The Food Pantry is constructing a new building to house donations, located adjacent to the old facility.
Last year, Nordblom Co. donated $5,000 to the Burlington Food Pantry, which is operated by People Helping People and hopes to aid in the cost of the new building.
"This food drive was even more successful than the last. It is wonderful to see such great participation amongst the companies at Northwest Park," said Kathy Giacoppo of Nordblom Company, also a Burlington resident. Nordblom plans to continue its park-wide collection drives to support the Pantry.

>They say, “April showers bring May flowers,” but this season may bring more movement in the housing market as springtime is one of the most popular times for home buying and selling. As healthcare facilities, often referred to as “Doc in a Box” clinics, increasingly move into traditional retail spaces, landlords are more frequently leasing to medical tenants. Unlike standard retail or office leases, medical facilities come with a unique set of considerations that must be carefully addressed to ensure a successful tenancy.
Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
