Newton of King & Newton elected 2010 president of the RCA of Mass.

Taylor Newton of King & Newton LLC has been elected 2010 president of the Realtors Commercial Alliance of MA - the statewide commercial Board of Realtors. Newton and other new RCA-MA officers and directors for 2010 were elected at the organization's recent Annual Meeting, held in Auburn. In addition to Newton, the new officers, whose terms begin January 1st, are: *Michael Sorrentino of Century 21 Franklin Street Associates in Lenox, president-elect - RCA-MA charter member; *David Hutchinson of Coldwell Banker Commercial, NRT in Easton, treasurer; and, *Timothy Garvey of Century 21 Commonwealth in Winchester, secretary. The newly elected members of the board of directors include: *Robert Bohlen, CCIM, ABR, CRS, GRI, of Lillian Montalto Signature Properties in Andover - RCA-MA charter member; *Thomas Carroll, CCIM, GRI, CRS, of RE/MAX Partners in Andover, 2001-2002 RCA-MA president and charter member; *Barbara Davis-Hassan, CCIM, GRI, CRS, of Barb Hassan Realty in Pittsfield; *Mark Dickey, CCIM, of Cale Commercial Realty Group in North Andover; *Peter Haley, CCIM, of Henshaw and Haley in Templeton, 2004 RCA-MA president and charter member; *Martin Kane of King & Newton LLC in Springfield; *Michael O'Mara, CCIM, of Eastern Net Lease Advisors in Medway; *Wendy Perkins, GRI, of the Boston Restaurant Group in Boxford, 2008 RCA-MA president and charter member; *John Reardon, MRA, GAA, RAA, of J. The RCA-MA was chartered by the National Association of Realtors in 2001as the only commercial overlay Board in Massachusetts, and expanded statewide in 2008. Commercial overlay boards were first allowed by the National Association of Realtors in 1993, and this type of Board serves commercial real estate professionals and overlays the jurisdiction of residential boards of Realtors. The benefits of membership in RCA-MA are: *Regular networking meetings and education sessions, including a "Haves & Wants" Marketing Session, whereby members and guests in an open forum discuss their listings as well as the preferences of investors with whom they're working; *Discounted participation fees in the MassCIE, a commercial real estate property listing service powered by Catylist; *A quarterly e-newsletter designed specifically for commercial real estate practitioners in Massachusetts; *Information on educational opportunities for commercial real estate practitioners; *Use of NAR's red "Commercial Real Estate" Realtor logo on business cards and marketing materials; *Leadership opportunities and the ability to serve on committees and network at the Massachusetts Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors meetings and conferences; *Member-only access to RcaMA.com, MaRealtor.com, and Realtor.org, the official websites of the RCA-MA and the Massachusetts and National associations of Realtors; and, *Access to the benefits of Realtor membership including national and statewide lobbying efforts, discounts, and communication services, Legal and Technology hotlines, an alternative dispute resolution system, and more. RCA-MA is headquartered in Chelmsford and has its own charter and bylaws as well as representation to the Massachusetts and National associations of Realtors. The term Realtor is a trademark for use exclusively by members of the National Association of Realtors, with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
