Newmark promoted to principal consultant at Acentech

Marc Newmark, Acentech Marc Newmark, Acentech

Cambridge, MA Acentech, a nationally recognized multi-disciplinary acoustics, vibration, audiovisual, IT and security system design consulting firm, has promoted Marc Newmark to principal consultant.

Newmark has a wide range of experience in acoustics and vibration from a background in transportation noise, vibration analysis, outdoor sound modeling and product testing. Joining Acentech in 2008, he has worked on a variety of applications and projects that include: vibration and noise studies for health care facilities and research laboratories; design of vibration isolation systems; remote monitoring systems for construction-related noise and vibration; noise modeling of industrial facilities and transportation sources; acoustical noise barrier design; and environmental impact studies for highway developments.

“A wide array of academic, corporate and healthcare institutions have facilities that are sensitive to noise and vibration, and Marc has been essential in leading our remote monitoring practice and life science vertical market,” said Jeffrey Zapfe, Ph.D., president of Acentech. “Marc’s promotion to Principal Consultant is recognition of his contributions to Acentech and his expertise in assisting our clients in addressing complex situations.”

During his time at Acentech, Marc has been a key contributor on projects in several of the markets Acentech serves, including:

• Healthcare: Boston Medical Center, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Baystate Medical Center, Children’s Hospital

• Higher Education: Harvard University, Yale University, Dartmouth College, Emerson College, University of Massachusetts, New England Conservatory

• Corporate/Commercial: Liberty Mutual, Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Digital Realty, Ipsen Bioscience, Hynes Convention Center

• Transportation: Minneapolis/St. Paul Green Line, Connecticut Department of Transportation, New York State Thruway; Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority

Marc received a bachelor of science in business administration from Babson College and a master of science in mechanical engineering from Boston University. He is a member of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering and the Greater Boston Chapter of the Acoustical Society of America.
