New England Appraisers Expo to be held at Sheraton Framingham

The 2007 New England Appraisers Expo will be held on November 5th at the Sheraton Framingham on 1657 Worcester Rd. The event will be sponsored by MBREA and the Mass. chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Commercial and residential programs will be available at the event, which will be submitted to Conn., Mass., Maine, N.H., R.I. and Vt. for six hours of continuing education credit. Programs will include the following: Commercial Program * 8 a.m. Registration/continental breakfast with vendors. * 9 -10 a.m. "Appraising Conservation Easements—The New World," Part 1. Featuring: Donald Bouchard, MAI; Ronald Ruth, Esq.; John Leonard, Esq.; and Lawrence Beals. * 3:40 - 4:30 p.m. "Real Estate Development and Land Use," Part 2 Residential Program * 8 a.m. Registration/continental breakfast with vendors * 9-9:50 a.m. "Introduction to USPAP 2008." Featuring Greg Accetta, MRA, chair of the Appraisal Standards Board. * 10:10-11 a.m. "Mortgage Fraud" Features Christopher Barry-Smith, assistant attorney general. * 11:10 a.m. - 12 p.m. "Fraud or Not." Featuring Joseph Muise. * 1:30-2:20 p.m. "Appraiser Liability." Featuring Attorney Sean McDonough and Steve Spangle. * 2:40--3:30 p.m. "The Interrelationship Between the Cost Approach and the Sales Comparison Approach." Featuring Steven Elliott, MRA. * 3:40-4:30 p.m. "An Overview of theCost Approach." Featuring John Cena, MRA. You can register online at www.mbrea.org. The cost for the event is $125 for MBREA and AI members and $175 for non-members. There will be an additional $25 fee for those who register at the door.
