National Grid helps build greener buildings with new construction services program

As part of its mission to enable customers to take control of their energy usage, National Grid has launched an updated energy efficiency program to support design of high-performing new commercial and industrial buildings in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The New Construction Program provides professionals involved with building design, construction, ownership or operation with an array of energy-saving resources, financial incentives and training designed to help lower building operating expenses, reduce emissions and optimize performance. National Grid's New Construction Services are available for most types of non-residential buildings larger than 10,000 s/f, including commercial, industrial and institutional projects. The program's Whole Building Approach provides energy efficiency support for ground-up new construction, as well as major gut renovation projects that are building code triggering. Participating projects receive technical and design assistance as well as financial incentives for both owners and the design team. The Whole Building Approach offers two different options - the Integrated Design Path and the Advanced Buildings Path - that require early collaboration between National Grid and the design team preferably in the conceptual or schematic design phase. Besides falling within the definition of "New Construction", project eligibility also requires for the building owner to become a commercial and/or industrial customer of National Grid in Massachusetts or Rhode Island. For more information on the program, visit www.myngrid.com/tradepro, or to discuss a specific project, call 1-844-280-4326, or send an email to EENewConstruction@nationalgrid.com.
