Nadeau Corporation Construction breaks ground on new $1.1 million Banna Fire Station on Pine Street, Seekonk, Mass.
Nadeau Corp. has broken ground on the new 5,000 s/f Banna Fire Station on Pine St. The architect for the $1.1 million project was Jim Marshall. State and town officials were gathered at the ceremony for the project that was approved by voters last March. The 74 year old fire station was only being manned 6 hours a day, but the new 2 story station will allow for 24 hour emergency service to the area. The station is needed to serve the town's north end, and reduce emergency response time. Fire chief Alan Jack said the current response time is unacceptable.
The town committee decided to go with a modular, prefabricated building to expand the fire station to allow for a favorable budget and construction schedule. The Attleboro based GC will construct a modular fire sub-station consisting of a modular two-floor living quarters and an attached apparatus bay. Nadeau will include a training facility for the firefighters on the ground level. The construction will continue through the winter months and will be completed in the spring of 2014. The station will keep its name in memory of Richard Banna, who died in the line of duty in 1977.

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
