MetaSystems Group signs 9,100 s/f lease at 200 River’s Edge Dr. - owned by Preotle, Lane & Associates Ltd.

Medford, MA Preotle, Lane & Associates Ltd. has signed a lease with MetaSystems Group Inc. to occupy 9,100 s/f at 200 River’s Edge Dr. – one of two premier office buildings located in the mixed-use River’s Edge community along the banks of the Malden River. Agents for MetaSystems were Mark Coelho and Allison Hoffman of Cresa. Preotle, Lane & Associates was represented by Eric Smith, McKenna Teague and Tess Chandler of CBRE.

MetaSystems, which is currently based in Newton, is the U.S. subsidiary of German company MetaSystems International. MetaSystems was created in 1986 as a spin-off from the Institute of Physics at the University of Heidelberg. The company develops and manufactures laboratory solutions for microscope-based imaging with broad applications across industries.

“We’re excited to have MetaSystems join the other tenants at River’s Edge, where we have established a community and culture that attracts companies doing exciting work,” said John Preotle of Preotle, Lane & Associates. “The presence of MetaSystems will further enhance River’s Edge.”

The company is expected to take occupancy this month. MetaSystems reached a direct lease agreement with Preotle, Lane & Associates after a prior tenant consolidated operations.

Prior to completion of 200 River’s Edge Dr. in 2009, Preotle, Lane & Associates created a major community resource with the Park at River’s Edge. The park and surrounding green space includes more than a mile of paths for running, walking and cycling – and is also host to the Tufts University William Shoemaker Boathouse.

“Our company’s relocation was a major step in our growth plans and one we have taken very seriously. We looked at dozens of sites in and around Boston. With one exception, none exuded the serenity and aesthetic we were looking for to underscore the creativity of our workforce and express the value we place on our employees: The exception in every way was and is 200 River’s Edge in Medford,” said Dr. Elizabeth Harrison, CEO for Metasystems. “Set on the Malden River in the middle of a park landscape, a modern building filled with inspiring artwork and photography, integrated in the Boston public transportation infrastructure, restaurants and amenities, River’s Edge checks all the boxes for us. We plan to be there for a long time.”
