McMahon of GVA Thompson, Hennessey & Ptrs. leases 5,067 s/f
Chris McMahon, vice president of GVA Thompson Hennessey & Partners represented the landlord, SMC Management, it its recent 7 year lease to SurfMerchants, LLC at 33 West St. SurfMerchants, LLC will move into a 5,067 s/f suite on the fifth floor of the building. The tenant was represented by Wil Catlin of Boston Realty Advisors.
Internet development firm SurfMerchants, LLC was looking to expand from its former 177 Tremont St. location into a larger custom-designed space. 33 West St. proved to be the best solution for the Boston-based company which wanted to remain in Downtown Crossing with its close proximity to Park St. and Boston Common.
33 West St. was recently purchased from Core Investments, a Boston real estate investment and development firm, which still remains in the building. This building has experienced a recent flurry of activity with two leases previously signed and one pending in addition to the SurfMerchants lease. Located in the heart of Downtown Crossing, West St. continues its transformation with the expanded presence of Emerson College, Suffolk University, and new tenants, retail and dining amenities.
