McCall of Paradigm Properties named the recipient of the 2010 CEO Social Leader Award

Kevin McCall, president and CEO of Paradigm Properties and its investment management affiliate, Paradigm Capital Advisors, has been named the recipient of the 2010 CEO Social Leader Award. The award, funded by the Grand Circle Foundation, provides $25,000 to a local CEO to be used for a social initiative. McCall founded a nonprofit, Building Impact, in 2004 that partners with 14 building owners and managers to leverage their 60 buildings to increase civic engagement. Through Building Impact, many companies and their employees have discovered opportunities for community involvement in the areas of hunger and housing, job training, education, and youth at-risk. McCall also created the Development Services Group within Paradigm which provides real estate services to the nonprofit sector. McCall will be honored at the Boston Business Journal's annual Corporate Citizenship Summit on September 10th, 2010 at the Boston Renaissance Hotel. "Kevin is a visionary leader very worthy of this honor," said Lisa Guyon, Executive Director of Building Impact. "Building Impact was a small in-house tenant amenity program at Paradigm when Kevin envisioned us, and now we engage 60 buildings, 550 companies, and 18,000 people in service and volunteerism to make their communities stronger. His social vision became an organization with tangible community impact that we intend to continue to grow in Boston and expand to other cities." Through his philanthropic work, McCall has led by example and engaged many other companies and individuals in service, such as Treena Landers at Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corporation, "Building Impact has been a big help to us in making a more complete community giving program. The extra volunteering activities in house and in our communities bring us closer together as a team, but also as responsible citizens. About Building Impact: Since its inception, Building Impact's portfolio has swelled to 60 buildings, 550 companies and 18,000 individuals producing significant community impact: 115,000 items donated, $136,000 in cash donations, and over 15,000 volunteer hours, 100% of which directly benefits underserved children, adults and families throughout Greater Boston. Building Impact partners with 35 local nonprofits via volunteer and donation activities in Andover, Boston, Burlington, Cambridge, Concord, Framingham, Lowell, Marlborough, Medford, Newton, Southborough, Waltham, and Woburn.
