Matthews Comm'l. completes $3.625m sale of 61 Pomeroy Ave., Meriden
Casle Corp., an Avon development company, has purchased 61 Pomeroy Ave., home of Holiday Cinemas, for $3.625 million. Casle Corp. plans to convert the 34,000 s/f theater into medical space and adding two smaller buildings to the eight-acre site. In all, the property would have nearly 70,000 s/f of office space when the renovations and construction are completed next year.
"We are excited about it," David Sessions, president of Casle Corp., said of the project. "It's a great location." Midstate Medical Center is set to lease a portion of the 34,000 s/f theater and move its MediQuick walk-in clinic from the former World War II Veterans' Memorial Hospital on Paddock Ave.
According to Lucille Janatka, MidState's president and CEO, they have been looking to relocate MediQuick for quite some time.
