Mattapan Community Health Center breaks ground on $32 million facility

Mattapan Community Health Center (MCHC) broke ground on its new $32 million facility. There was a New Orleans-style parade to its new 50,000 s/f location at 1575 Blue Hill Ave., in which Dr. Azzie Young, president and CEO of MCHC, and MCHC staff marched with governor Deval Patrick, mayor Thomas Menino and MCHC friends. The current MCHC facility is aging and too small to accommodate the center's growing number of patients. MCHC provides care to more than 7,100 patients annually through more than 28,000 visits. The new building will incorporate expanded dental, pediatric, adolescent, women's and men's health, and mental health services. The architect is Steffian Bradley Architects.
