Margulies & Assoc. marks 20th with new name, partner & offices

Margulies & Associates, one of Boston's most innovative architectural and interior design firms, is marking its 20th anniversary with a new name, new partner and new office space. After 20 years in business as Margulies & Assoc., the firm name is changing to include a new partner: Daniel Perruzzi, Jr., AIA. A principal at Margulies & Assoc. for nearly 14 years, Perruzzi has consistently demonstrated expert leadership, design skill and dedication to understanding and meeting the unique needs of every project and client. The firm is honored to add Perruzzi's name to its new identity: Margulies Perruzzi Architects. "We realized that it was time that the name of the firm better represent the senior leadership by becoming Margulies Perruzzi Architects," said Marc Margulies, AIA, principal at Margulies Perruzzi Architects. "Everyone in the office is delighted to see Dan so deservedly recognized, and the reaction from our clients has been equally positive. Dan's role as principal will remain unchanged as he continues to oversee projects and manage staff and client relations for the firm." Margulies founded the firm in 1988 to provide thoughtful architecture and interior design to corporate clients for whom the workplace is an important part of their business. Over the past twenty years, the firm has grown into a team of more than fifty talented, service-oriented designers. "We are proud to be ranked each year as one of the area's largest architectural firms by the Boston Business Journal, and our diverse expertise now spans the corporate, professional services, real estate development, healthcare, and research and development fields," said Perruzzi. "We continue to expand our healthcare expertise, working with clients such as Fallon Clinic and Partners Healthcare, and our projects have recently won a number of design awards of which we are quite proud." Along with its identity upgrade, Margulies Perruzzi Architects has relocated its offices to the fourth floor of the newly-renovated Boston Children's Museum building at 308 Congress St., in the Fort Point Channel neighborhood. The office space will be certified LEED-Silver, and is located within the certified LEED-Gold museum building, representing the firm's dedication to sustainable design. The new offices also provide additional space to continue Margulies Perruzzi Architects' steady growth. Located in an historic building dating back to the 1860s, the new office space offers many exciting opportunities for the growing firm. The single-floor layout allows for greater collaboration among the firm's designers than its previous three-story office space. The new space intersects the old mill building's brick-and-beam construction with a modern interior featuring glass, stainless steel and colors. The 13,000 s/f space features offices, workstations, a conference center, informal meeting areas, and a roof deck overlooking the Boston skyline.
