Malkin Construction completes fit-out for Ventus Network
Malkin Construction has completed the interior fit-out of Ventus Networks' new headquarters in Norden Park, a 630,000 s/f high tech office complex at 10 Norden Place, according to Tim Yahn, president of the Stamford-based construction firm.
Ventus provides secure, advanced global fixed-line and wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) telecommunication networks, infrastructure alternatives, hardware manufacturing, data transport, and end-to-end managed services for domestic and international clients.
Formerly part of an industrial building, Ventus' new office space presented several design challenges for the project team. Conversion to modern office use required coordination with the Norden Park owners to change the infrastructure and building envelope.
The data center required many upgrades, including those for cooling, fire protection and uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems. Redundant cooling by an under-the-floor air distribution system keeps the data center cool at all times. The dual air conditioning units are programmed to power on if one fails and are switched automatically every week. The entire facility is monitored by cameras and password protected access systems.
The Malkin Construction project team included Corporate Design, LLC as the project architect, and C&F Consulting Engineering.

The industrial markets have never been stronger. What has happened is that the build out of Devens with new high-tech biotech manufacturing with housing to service these buildings serves as the connector required to really make the I-495 West market sizzle. Worcester has been the beneficiary
