Lyman of Lyman Real Estate handles $400,000 sale and 4,900 s/f lease

Norwich, CT Ron Lyman, CCIM, CEO of Lyman Real Estate, completed the sale of the building most recently known as The Majestic Rose Dinner Theater at 352 Main St. It was purchased by Ganesh Hospitality, LLC, a New Haven hotel developer, for $400,000, with Lyman acting as agent for the seller, Jeffrey Tesch of RCN Capital. 

The classic Greek Revival structure was built in 1843 as a mansion for mill mogul John Slater. It was subsequently owned for decades by the Elks Club, who then sold it to a development group which made it The Majestic Rose. Another owner put in a karaoke club and began renovating the upper floors as a hotel, but never completed the project.

Amit Naran of Ganesh Hospitality said they plan to turn the building into the Chelsea Hotel, a boutique hotel with a restaurant and amenities, named for its location in the city’s Chelsea district. The developers are working with the Norwich Community Development Corp. and other city officials to secure final approvals.

In addition, Lyman, completed a lease to Specialized Education of Connecticut, Inc., for 4,900 s/f in a freestanding building at 95 Westcott Rd. in Danielson (Killingly). Lyman represented landlord Matthew Levy of Levy Properties, LLC, while the tenant’s agent was David Barnes of CBRE New England’s Hartford office.

Specialized Education of Connecticut of Connecticut will be using the facility as an educational center for special needs students who are coping with learning and physical challenges. The organization is owned by Catapult Learning, which has been established for more than 40 years and operates in 41 states and 10 countries.
