Kripper Studio chosen to provide services to Fitchburg State University

Fitchburg, MA Following a review of portfolios and credentials, the Designer Selection Board of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Executive Office for Administration and Finance, has selected Kripper Studio as one of the newest “house doctors” to service the architecture needs of Fitchburg State University.

The role of “house doctor” involves the methodical study of, and design recommendations for, general building renovations, repairs and upgrades and provides Fitchburg State with on-call architectural services as they proceed with enhancements to campus buildings to benefit students, faculty and staff.

The scope of the six-year engagement includes documenting existing conditions, recommending detailed repairs and advising on the cost for such repairs. In line with Kripper Studio’s expertise, the engagement also calls for proposing alternate methods of repairs for resolution of the issue(s), including energy efficient alternatives.

Being selected by the Designer Selection Board for this assignment is acknowledgment of Kripper Studio’s growing presence in work for higher education institutions that are looking to upgrade their existing inventory of buildings.

“The variety of needs, building types and the potential to upgrade existing inventory is very appealing,” said architect Amir Kripper, the founding principal of Kripper Studio. “Supporting Fitchburg State University’s desire to be sustainable in their re-use of buildings, and their desire to enhance the campus experience is very much aligned with our overall approach and specifically to our work for higher education institutions.”

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
