Kerrigan and Cook of Avison Young handle $3 million sale for Nashoba Learning Group, Inc.
Avison Young represented Nashoba Learning Group, Inc. (NLG), a private, non-profit corporation providing services for people with autism, in the acquisition of 170 Lexington Rd. from CrossHarbor Capital Partners LLC.
Avison Young Principals Jack Kerrigan and Steve Cook represented NLG in the sale. JLL managing director Matt Daniels and executive vice president Christopher Lawrence represented CrossHarbor. The purchase price was $3 million.
Built in 1997, 170 Lexington Rd. is a two-story, 33,802 s/f office building located off Rte. 3. NLG originally leased the second floor of 170 Lexington Rd. in 2012 to develop and operate its adult day program, which provides ongoing job and community support to adults with autism. Launched in 2013, the adult program has experienced immense success and is rapidly growing. NLG plans to continue to expand the adult program on the second floor of 170 Lexington Rd.
In 2007, Kerrigan and Cook represented NLG in the purchase of its first location, 10 Oak Park Dr. in Bedford, Mass., which is home to its school program, serving 90 students ages three to 21. NLG will open a second site for the school program on the first floor of 170 Lexington Rd.
"We are so pleased that we will be able to expand both of our programs and serve more of the many children and adults with autism who need our services," said Elizabeth Martineau, president of NLG. "In Billerica, we will be able to accommodate 40 additional students in our new school site on the first floor and grow to serve 50 adults on the second floor. For these individuals with autism, access to the services and highly trained staff NLG provides makes an enormous difference in their lives."
Cook said, "Avison Young is pleased to have represented Nashoba Learning Group in two acquisitions, which support NLG's growth and further its mission of enabling children and adults with autism to function with the greatest possible productivity and independence in the community, home, and workplace."
