Keiser Industries opens Bracket Estates: NETZERO 100% energy efficient community in Wells, ME

Keiser Industries of Oxford, recently held a ribbon-cutting event for one of the state's first ever NETZERO energy efficient community. Brackett Estates, located just one mile from Old Marsh Golf Club. The event was attended by home buyers interested in saying good-bye to oil and electric bills. Keiser Industries partnered with Futuro, Inc. of Portsmouth, N.H., and Kaplan Thompson Architects of Portland, Me., to design and build the first of 26 zero-energy homes for this community. The homes will feature energy efficiency, including super-insulated construction, photovoltaic solar panels, solar hot water, triple-glazed windows, low-flow showerheads and more. Net-zero, or zero-energy, means exactly that-zero cost to the home owner for the consumption or use of electricity because of the home's design. Because they are modular, net-zero homes can be constructed quickly in Keiser's climate-controlled facility, and will give owners immediate savings in their energy bills. The efficiency is accomplished using R-40 wall insulation, R-60 ceilings, and triple glaze windows. The first completed home is a two-story Cape-style featuring 1,750 s/f of living space with three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths. A variety of configurations and floor plans are available, and the community is close to downtown shopping and recreation. "All of these attributes-combined with a beautiful wooded setting and 35 acres of pristine open space-create a truly unique and serene experience for vacationers and year-round residents alike," says Abigail Douris of AD Real Estate Group, the firm marketing these homes developed by Keiser Industries. Keiser is a national leader in modular construction, setting new standards in quality and value for homebuilding and for multifamily and commercial development. Keiser is a division of R.J. Finlay & Co., a N.H.-based holding company of diverse businesses and investments with a central focus on real estate. For more information, please visit www.rjfinlay.com.
