Kaplan Construction completes $1.5 million Tufts Medical Center facility: 15,000 s/f design by Lavallee Brensinger architects

Kaplan Construction completed work on a new 15,000 s/f $1.5 million Tufts Medical Center building. Located in Crown Colony Park, the new building will house Tufts Medical Center Primary Care - Quincy. Early involvement in the project allowed Kaplan to provide valuable estimating and value engineering services to both the building owner and architect, while also contributing to efficient coordination of shell and core mechanical systems with the interior design. Working on an accelerated summer schedule, Kaplan converted the building into patient-centered offices for up to 12 physicians. Lavallee Brensinger Architects provided the interior architecture and healthcare design services for the fit-out. The building is divided into quadrants, each with exam rooms clustered around a centrally-located team room. "Having worked with Kaplan in the past, we were quite pleased to collaborate with them again on this new model for Tufts Medical Center offices in Quincy," said Danielle Santos AIA, LEED AP, healthcare project manager for Lavallee Brensinger. "Just as the medical providers in this building will be looking to high-quality care, Kaplan is always committed to providing the highest quality work, an efficient project team, and timely completion of our designs."
