JM Coull, Inc. completes 42,000 s/f R&D/manufacturing facility for solar company 1366 Technologies

BEDFORD, MA1366 Technologies hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new headquarters, built by JM Coull, Inc. The facility is the new site of research and development operations for 1366's Direct Wafer technology and the manufacturing of silicon wafers used in solar energy systems. It is 1366's stated goal to produce solar at the cost of coal which would cause an overwhelmingly positive impact on both the use of solar for energy and reduction of carbon emissions created by commonly used forms of energy. The 42,000 s/f corporate headquarters was developed within an existing building, completely renovated and customized for use by 1366. JM Coull completed the project in 3 phases. The rapidly changing technology placed aggressive demands on the schedule, which JM Coull met by working with project architect Ci Design, inc. and engineer Avid Engineering. Lieutenant governor Timothy Murray and other dignitaries were on hand to celebrate the occasion, taking note of 1366's role in advancing the cleantech industry in Massachusetts. Murray noted that, through initiatives created by governor Deval Patrick, Massachusetts is a leader in the cleantech sector. JM Coull president Andrew Coull, who attended the ceremony, said his firm was proud to be working with companies like 1366 Technologies to promote innovation in the solar industry. "JMC has been fortunate to work with many companies on the cutting edge of technology and we have been especially pleased to have a role in 1366's efforts to dramatically reduce the cost of delivering solar energy," said Coull.
