Jewett Construction Company, Inc. to construct new 30,000 s/f YMCA in Exeter, NH

Southern District YMCA has partnered with Jewett Construction Company, Inc. (JCCI) to build a ground-up, new YMCA. JCCI has a long history of building facilities for New Hampshire non-profits, including the Boy Scouts of America - projects for which they also fundraised - as well as the historic renovation of the non-profit America's Credit Museum in Manchester. "We're pleased to be onboard for such an exciting project," said Craig Jewett, president of JCCI. "A community-based facility like this will benefit generations to come." A volunteer YMCA facility committee is working with JCCI to design a facility that will meet the needs of the extended community and will fulfill the focus of the Y on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. "We are pleased that the selection process has led us to Jewett Construction," said Rob McGregor, executive director of Southern District YMCA. "We have confidence in their experience to build a Y where everyone is comfortable." The Exeter Y will bring the generations together with affordable programs. The 30,000 s/f building will be expansive including a cardio and weight room, group fitness studios, an indoor track, a full-court gymnasium, a multi-purpose community room, locker rooms, and space dedicated to watching children while parents use the facility. A second phase will join an indoor pool with access through the locker rooms. JCCI is a design-build/construction management firm specializing in commercial and industrial projects throughout the Northeast. Collectively, their clients include such well-known organizations as LAARS Heating Systems, NH Motor Speedway, The Grappone Automotive Group, Lowell Five Bank, and the Daniel Webster Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
