Jewett completes renovations to Grappone Automotive car dealership

Jewett Automotive Design and Construction, Inc. recently completed major renovations to an existing Grappone Automotive Group car dealership, creating the company's new collision repair center at 506 State Rte. 3A. A grand opening is planned for March 24th. This retrofit included interior demolition, masonry; HVAC, plumbing and electrical work; light gauge metal framing and drywall; painting, flooring, and metal panel siding. Jewett's Metal Buildings and Steel Erectors division, working in conjunction with Jewett Automotive, provided demolition of the existing mezzanine, removed conduit and drywall, and installed new siding and trim on three sides of the new, vastly improved building. It provides a better-lit and more efficient working environment for the staff, something owner Amanda Grappone Osmer is excited about. "The collision repair trade is tough enough; we're so happy to be able to provide a clean and safe work space for the Technicians and support staff," Osmer said. She also noted their continued commitment to waste elimination, the shop's main focus since converting to a "lean manufacturing" style of management two years ago. Features such as energy efficient lighting, occupancy sensors in all rooms, dual flush toilets, and a reverse osmosis system to treat the shop's well water were all put in place with energy efficiency and staff wellness in mind. Customers will check in at John Grappone Ford next door, where the Collision Center has a separate counter. Jewett Automotive Design and Construction is a division of Jewett Construction, a Raymond, NH-based design-build firm specializing in commercial projects throughout the Northeast. Other recent Grappone Automotive Group projects undertaken by Jewett include Grappone Hyundai and Grappone Toyota, both also located in Bow. Additional information about the firm can be found on its web site, www.jewettautomotive.com. Founded in 1924, the Grappone Automotive Group is family owned and operated and is now in its fourth generation of ownership. Grappone Automotive represents the Toyota, Scion, Ford, Mazda, Honda, Hyundai, and Equus lines as well as offering vehicle service, wholesale and retail parts, a reconditioning center, and its beautiful, new full service collision repair facility.
