Jewett Automotive contracts with Commonwealth Motors for the renovation of Volkswagen dealership
Jewett Automotive Design & Construction, a division of Raymond, NH-based Jewett Construction Company, Inc., has contracted with Commonwealth Motors for the renovation of its Volkswagen dealership. The project involves upgrading the existing metal roof with a Butler Buildings High Profile Metal over Metal Reroof System, as well as construction of a new 750 s/f service drive—enclosing the canopy at the entrance to the service garage and adding a foundation, slab, walls, a tiled floor area, a new overhead door, roofing and windows, and new lighting and heating. Designed by the team of O'Sullivan Architects and Summit Engineering, the work will be carried out while the dealership is fully operational and is expected to be completed by early summer.
This marks the 6th project Jewett Automotive has undertaken for Commonwealth. In 2011, Jewett completed two new dealerships for the company-a 28,400 s/f Chevrolet dealership and a three-phase renovation/addition to the former Chevy facility into the new Commonwealth Nissan. In 2014, Jewett provided interior upgrades to the client's Nissan and Honda dealerships, and completed a new 2,500 s/f addition to the Chevy's service shop.
