Interstate Electrical Services receives ABC Mass. Chapter's Excellence and Green Awards

Interstate Electrical Services Corp was recognized by the Massachusetts Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors with two awards; and Excellence and Green Award for their participation in the Shaffer Landfill Photovoltaic project. This installation blankets the 63 acre site with over 20,000 solar panels, racking, inverters and various electrical components, transforming a capped superfund site into a community asset that on a sunny day generates nearly 6.0 megawatts of clean renewable energy. Interstate began construction of this fast track project in February, and in spite of the significant challenges; extremely cold weather, lack of site accessibility, stringent weight and pressure restrictions, steep grades, and site restrictions that forced the company to move all material receiving and prefabrication activities off-site, completed the project in 92 days. The greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that all the hard work and effort will Interstate's home town of Billerica for years to come In addition to installing photovoltaic power generation systems, Interstate provides electrical construction, electrical service, network infrastructure, process and building automation controls to commercial, industrial, health care, and life science pharmaceutical customers of all sizes, across New England.
