Hanover, MA Integrated Builders has completed the construction and installation of a Spaulding Rehabilitation Outpatient Site at the South Shore YMCA – Emilson (SSYMCA), located at 75 Mill St. The new 2,400 s/f center provides world-class rehabilitative and medical care for patients with a range of conditions including, but not limited to traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries and multiple sclerosis. The new Spaulding Rehabilitation Outpatient Site includes five separate therapeutic stations, a designated exercise area, and a nurses’ charting room. There was also a reception area and spacious waiting room constructed to provide an enhanced level of comfort. It is important to note; the construction represents the second Spaulding Rehabilitation Outpatient Site installed within a YMCA following the care center found at the South Shore YMCA’s Quincy location. The Integrated Builders team included project superintendent Michael Kelly, project manager Sean Burgess, and assistant project manager Barbara Frazier. The firm collaborated with New Hampshire based architects at Caldarola Design Associates, P.C., who specialize in healthcare and medical design. President & CEO Paul Gorman, and executive director Dan Berry supervised the South Shore YMCA team throughout the duration of the construction project. “We are extremely pleased with how the Spaulding Rehabilitation Outpatient Site turned out, having successfully managed construction on a fully-operational and highly active facility to provide a dedicated area for patients requiring rehabilitative and medical care,” said Sean Burgess, Project Manager at Integrated Builders. “Our team collaborated efficiently to complete the project within a tight timeframe. Concurrently, we completed the 24,000 s/f interior renovation of the South Shore YMCA – Emilson, which allows for increased studio space to better accommodate the facility’s members.” Spaulding Outpatient Centers provide services for rehabilitation programs after surgery or illness to pain management, sports medicine, and injury prevention, at 23 centers throughout Massachusetts. Whether patients are recovering from an accident, a heart attack, surgery, or any other physical challenge, the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network offers unparalleled experience to achieve the most complete recovery possible. “The South Shore YMCA is excited about the completion of this facility improvement project at our Emilson Branch, which will allow us to enhance our membership experience and better serve both our members and the community,” said Paul Gorman, South Shore YMCA president & CEO. “We enjoyed working with Integrated Builders again and are repeatedly impressed with their abilities to deliver high-quality work within our timeline and with limited disruption to regular facility operations.” The SSYMCA is a nonprofit association committed to strengthening its communities by nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility. Throughout the South Shore community, the SSYMCA engages more than 65,000 members and participants, nearly two-thirds of whom are children and teens, in over 100 different program areas across its six branches. The Y strives to serve its entire community and provides financial assistance to ensure every child, family, and individual has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive through its membership, programs, and services.
