Harriman and The Cecil Group open new Portsmouth, NH office

Portsmouth, NH Harriman and The Cecil Group, a newly merged architecture, engineering, urban design, planning, and landscape architecture firm, have opened their new location in Portsmouth. The office address is 33 Jewel Court in the city’s West End. The new location positions Harriman closer to existing clients and aligns with the firm’s other offices to strengthen collaborative efforts.

“The energy of Portsmouth’s West End is a great match for Harriman, and we are excited about the city’s revitalization plans for the Islington St. Corridor,” said Clifton Greim, P.E., president and CEO of Harriman. “Our new Portsmouth location offers our current and prospective employees a diverse mix of urban amenities and civic spaces, while providing the firm with ample space for future growth. We look forward to continued collaboration with our clients from our new location.”

The new office occupies 2,800 s/f  in the historic Scald House, a renovated two-story brick office building situated close to downtown and less than one mile from I-95. The Harriman designed fit-out was built by Portsmouth-based construction manager Alternative Solutions. The space opened on August 1, completing the firm’s New Hampshire office transition from Manchester to Portsmouth.

Harriman’s current projects in the area include North End Portsmouth, a 72,600 SF five story mixed-use project by development firm HarborCorp LLC. It will transform a large parking lot into a mix of retail, hotel, residential and a conference center, designed to seamlessly blend into Portsmouth’s historic district. In addition, Harriman continues a long history of architectural and engineering projects on the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Durham campus.

Harriman and The Cecil Group are an integrated, full-service practice in architecture, engineering, urban design, planning and landscape architecture. The partnership is dedicated to excellent multi-disciplinary client service that directly applies the talents and experiences of our principals and creative professionals. Both Harriman and The Cecil Group are well-established and successful firms with a legacy of providing clients with thoughtful solutions through distinctive design and innovative strategies. The combined entity is a stronger, more flexible and robust firm dedicated to enhancing the built and natural environment.
