Griffin Land & Nurseries, Inc. executes three new leases at Griffin Center business park totaling 67,000 s/f

Griffin Land & Nurseries, Inc. has executed three leases with new tenants in its portfolio comprising nearly 67,000 s/f of new lease activity within its Griffin Center business park, in Windsor and Bloomfield. Highlights of these first quarter transactions include the following: * ABB, Inc. has leased 21,000 s/f of first class office space within Griffin Center at 5 Waterside Crossing in Windsor. They will be relocating from another property along Windsor's Day Hill Rd. corridor. Tenant improvement work has commenced and includes a rehabilitation of the premises into private offices and workstations, a robotics lab, archive rooms, and accessory work areas. Occupancy of the premises is expected in June. Pat Mulready and Anna Kocsundy of CB Richard Ellis's Hartford office represented the landlord, a subsidiary of Griffin Land & Nurseries, Inc. ABB was represented by Robert Kelly of Cushman & Wakefield's Hartford office. * Vertafore, Inc. has leased 25,700 s/f of first class office space within Griffin Center at 7 Waterside Crossing in Windsor. They will be relocating from another building within the park. Construction of the tenant improvements are underway and include renovating all office areas, an expansion of the IT room, and a fitness area with showers. Occupancy of the premises is expected in August. Mulready and Kocsundy of CB Richard Ellis's Hartford office represented the landlord, a subsidiary of Griffin Land & Nurseries, Inc. Vertafore was represented by Joel Grieco of Cushman & Wakefield's Hartford office. * Earlier in the quarter Griffin Land also executed a lease with a large insurance company for 19,000± s/f of first class office space within Griffin Center at 340 West Newberry Rd. in Bloomfield. This company is also relocating from a parcel along Windsor's Day Hill Rd. corridor. Tenant improvement work is nearing completion and includes renovations to the office areas, installation of a backup generator, and comprehensive wireless services with multiple carriers. Maury Smith of Cushman & Wakefield's Hartford office represented the landlord, Griffin Land & Nurseries, Inc. The tenant was represented by Larry Levere of Sentry Commercial of Hartford and UGL Equis out of Chicago. "We are delighted in welcoming three new businesses join our tenant community within Griffin Center," said Tim Lescalleet, senior vice president of Griffin Land, the company's real estate division. "Businesses today are looking for well capitalized landlords that can deliver on customized space solutions and provide superior tenant services. Griffin Land has a proven record of performance, with the longevity of tenancies within our portfolio being our greatest testimony." Other corporate neighbors within Griffin Land's office portfolio include Acellos, Comcast, Connecticut Light & Power, Johnson Controls, KMC Music, Phillips Medical, T-Mobile, and TRC Environmental Solutions. Griffin Center is a 600-acre business park master-planned and developed by Griffin Land. The park is located in Windsor and Bloomfield at the intersections of Day Hill Rd. and Blue Hills Ave. This Class A suburban office location is approximately 12 miles north of the Hartford CBD, accessible from Exits 37 & 38 of I-91. The park also has easy access to Bradley International Airport which is located just a few miles to its north. In-park amenities include the Vito's by the Water restaurant and function facility, the SS&C SummerWind Performing Arts Center, and a network of ponds, fountains, and walking trails. Redundant power and telecommunications services are also available within the area.
